MAINTENANCE

To achieve targets continuously and strive to greater results, performance of both individuals and functional units must be maintained at required levels.  As a unique service available only from GFWCS, a Performance Management System provides this capability and functions as the maintenance component of projects to:

                         • Identify desired performance levels.

                         • Track current performance.

                         • Use real-time measures to detail the gap between desired and

                            actual performance.

                         • Alert management to the need for corrective actions.

                         • Translated performance measures into monetary terms for

                            management analysis, comparison and action.

A Performance Management System functions as a tracking and monitoring measurement system that is custom-designed for each client and can range from simple to complex, manual or computer-based.  For example, a Performance Management System can replace the traditional appraisal system since it defines job expectations, measures actual performance, details areas of strength and weakness and, thus, provides the basis for individual prescriptive development plans.  The appraisal process based on this data is consistent and objective.

Additional capabilities of a Performance Management System include the ability to provide accurate data for succession planning, future hiring requirements, and to develop a skills inventory.

Measurement is a critical component of a Performance Management System.  Clients are able to link strategic initiatives and goals to individual and unit performance.  Also, a financial comparison of costs versus benefits can be made of processes, functional units and even individuals.
